Welcome to Beagle, a Neutaro validator node served Timpi project as one of the first community validators. Behind this validator there is neither big money nor a big organisation, but just love for the technology and belief in Timpi project.
Beagle validator is located in Finland, in the ultra modern data center of Hetzner Online. Yet close to Helsinki, the center is actually located amongst fields and farms near a small town named Tuusula. To ensure the performance and reliability of the node a VPS more than sufficient CPU torque, RAM and bandwidth was selected to do the job. A snapshot of the server software is taken regularly for a quick re-setup in case of something wrong in the network or the server.
Finland is the promised land of data centers and known also for its thick undersea fibers (C-Lion project) to the rest of the world, so maximized band and minimum latency are guaranteed. Did you know that in addition to Hetzner there are huge Google, Equinix, Yandex, aNorth etc data centers in the small country of Finland?
The validator is protected by strict firewall rules and having the standard ssh connection blocked. A tailored shell script is continuously monitoring the VPS status like CPU load, RAM and disk usage as well as the validator status and performance in one minute interval. There are text message alerts sent in case of anything alarming noticed.
The fee for delegating to Beagle kept close to the minimum, yet not dumping the pricing of the network.
The validator is run by Anttu, a Timpi community moderator. Anttu is a Finnish IT engineer, Linux/crypto hobbyist, entrepreneur and a father of five. When not at keyboard or with his family Anttu goes distance running - often barefoot.
Firstly, the mascot of the node is Essi the Beagle, born in August 2017. She is Anttu's running partner
and probably the kindest dog on Earth.
Secondly, knowing Timpi is in search engine and indexing business Beagke matches in the environment because of
its sniffing nature and the word "Beagle" being so conveniently close to "Google".
Anttu and his wife donate a nice part of the crypto income regularly to charity like Unicef, children's clinics etc, so by delegating to Beagle you also help people in need.
