Welcome to Connecting beagle, a sibling of Antorai, sharing the the too big share of the network that Antorai gathered in the beginning. The name is a tribute to my former employer Nokia. You might remember the "Connecting people" slogan. Also this exists more as a nerdy hobby and belief in the Oraichain project than earning big money.
Unlike its Finnish sibling Connecting beagle is located in Falkenstein Germany, in a data center of Hetzner Online. To ensure the performance and reliability of the node the newest type of VPS in the stack with 3 x AMD EPYC 2nd Gen CPU was selected to do the job.
The validator is protected by strict firewall rules and having the standard ssh connection blocked. A tailored shell script is monitoring the VPS status like CPU load, RAM and disk usage as well as the validator status and performance in one minute interval. There are different text message alerts sent in case of anything alarming noticed.
At first the comission of the validator is kept a bit lower than Antorai to get some delegators moving and balancing the voting power. Later the balance is kept by adjusting the comission rate respectively, probably maintaining fee range below 5% on both nodes.
The validator is run by Anttu, an Orai community member since day one. Anttu is a Finnish IT engineer, Linux/crypto hobbyist, entrepreneur and a father of five. When not at keyboard or with his family Anttu goes distance running - often barefoot.
The logo? She is Essi the beagle, born in August 2017, Anttu's running partner and probably the kindest dog on Earth.
